In an effort to increase the number of women and minority faculty, the Office for Women developed this series of workshops to support and encourage their participation in the promotion and tenure process. This series of “brown bag” workshops presents the policies, processes, and resources required for a faculty member to put forward an application for tenure or promotion. This small group format (a maximum of 30 participants) provides a friendly environment for candid discussion and ample opportunities for interaction with the panelists. Presenters are faculty and administrators familiar with or responsible for the promotion and tenure process.
Professor Richard Turner, Professor Mary Fisher, and Professor Bart Ng give panel presentation.

Spirit and Place Civic Festival Participation
The Spirit and Place Festival is an extensive civic celebration that spans 17 days in November engaging arts, humanities, educational and faith-based organizations in programming around a central theme. Spirit and Place is a collaborative community project managed by The Polis Center, part of the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. The Office for Women participates in the event by collaborating with campus and community organizations to develop programs celebrating the event’s annual theme.
2005 “Moving and Staying”
Inspired by the 2005 theme of the civic festival, “Moving and Staying,” the University Library, the Society of Women Engineers, the Ruth Lilly Medical Library, and the IUPUI Office of Women collaborated to explore women’s movement into the professions and the choices and challenges they face. The collaboration included exhibits, online programs, a breakfast roundtable discussion and a cross-generational luncheon for students.
2007 “Living Generously
The IUPUI Office for Women is collaborating with the IU Center on Philanthropy and several community groups to present a program featuring Judy O’Bannon, former First Lady of Indiana called “The Spirit of Women: Rooted in Generosity, Engaged in Social Change”.
Crossing Michigan Street - Information for Your Good Health

Love Your Body Day Celebration
