"Promoting the values of cultural diversity pedagogy in our classrooms, and the world around us."

Welcome to the pages of the Multicultural Pedagogy Research Group.  We are an interdisciplinary group of university faculty, staff and students focused on multicultural pedagogy. In the links to the left you will find information on our group, our interests, our activities, and multicultural teaching in general.  Enjoy!

Established about four years ago as the Mulicultural Teaching Community of Practice (MTCoP), we are a committee, made up of a diverse and talented group of 12 members hailing from different disciplines across the campus, but are connected by our passion and commitment to multicultural teaching at IUPUI. From the beginning, the MTCoP was charged with the examination and exploration of PUL#5 of IUPUI's Principles of Undergraduate Learning: Understanding Society and Culture. We constantly seek ways to demonstrate the importance of multicultural teaching as it can help us to educate culturally competent citizens, teach the value of diversity, and create learning environments that are interactive and dynamic.

We discuss and develop tools to improve multicultural pedagogy and learning disseminated through presentations, workshops, and publication impacting IUPUI students, colleagues and beyond.
