Statistics point to the fact that women are at considerable risk for domestic violence, dating violence and sexual assault. Data reported by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence states that women ages 16 to 24 experience the highest per capita rates of intimate violence—16 per 1,000 women. The US Department of Labor Statistics reports that 21% of full-time employed adults were victims of domestic violence in 2005.

There are many resources available on campus and in the community to help victims of abuse or violence. The Office for Women and Counseling and Psychological Services have put together a brochure, “Help for Relationship Abuse” with information about IUPUI and local resources for victims of abuse or violence. Please feel free to download, print, and distribute where needed.

The brochure is now available in Spanish, “Ayuda para casos de una relación abusiva.   Our thanks to the 2007 Fall semester “Craft of Translation” class of Associate Professor Enrica J. Ardemagni, Department of World Languages and Cultures,  for their work on this translation.
