Online Exhibit: Women Creating Excellence at IUPUI

“Women Creating Excellence at IUPUI: An Online Exhibit” is being developed by the Office for Women and University Library to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of IUPUI. Funding support is also being provided by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The online exhibit will highlight the significant contributions to building and sustaining our campus by women faculty, staff, students, alumnae or community members. Nominations for women to include in this exhibit are welcome from any member of the campus community or the general community. For more information or to nominate a woman, click HERE.

- Tenth Anniversary Celebration to Feature Ora H. Pescovitz -

Ora H. Pescovitz, M.D., President and CEO of Riley Hospital for Children will make the keynote address at the Celebration Luncheon marking the 10th year anniversary of the IUPUI Office for Women. The event is being held at Noon on Tuesday, April 10th at the University Place Hotel.

Dr. Pescovitz is also the Executive Associate Dean for Research Affairs and the Edwin Letzter Professor of Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. As an executive associate dean, she has administered the IU School of Medicine's research program, which brings in more than $220 million per year in grants and contracts. She also oversees the Indiana Genomics Initiative, funded by $155 million in grants from the Lilly Endowment, which helped lay the research foundation for BioCrossroads and Indiana's life sciences economic initiatives.
Chancellor Charles R. Bantz will make opening remarks at the event. Also at the luncheon special recognition will be given to those who lead the way in establishing the office and the Commission on Women. Former directors and staff of the office, Kathleen Warfel, Kimberly Quaid de Cordon, and Rebecca Van Voorhis, and Rebecca Porter, Chair of the Task Force on the Status of Women will be among those recognized.

Tickets are available at $50 “Supporter”, $100 “Advocate” or $250 “Patron” levels. Tables of 8 are also available at $350. All proceeds go to the Indiana University Foundation, Office for Women Operating Account.

A limited number of free student tickets are available for the luncheon. To apply, complete a short essay on the attached form and email by April 6th to ksgrove@iupui.edu. Winners will be contacted by email.
